2015 CSA Season in Review

A review of the 2015 CSA season...

Early Season Boxes (June/July):

In the first couple of boxes we sent: lots of
lettuce and spinach, rhubarb, several
types of herbs, garlic scapes
and broccoli.
In box three, peppers, cauliflower,
basil and peas showed up.

By box four we were sending summer squash,
cucumbers and cabbage.

In the fifth week potatoes, beets, garlic,
onions and parsley were harvested.
We closed the early season with the
addition of cherry tomatoes,
tommatillos, hot peppers
and eggplant.

Mid Season Boxes (July/August):

Generally August brings high summer
and great variety!
A large amount of sweet corn was sent
in week eight.

String beans started to dwindle
by week nine but the slicing
tomatoes started to ramp up.

The tenth box brought everything members
needed to make salsa. Plus flowers!

 Week 11 brought everything members
needed to make tomato sauce. Plus a giant
kohlrabi and multi-colored carrots.

Watermelon and brussel sprouts happened
for box 12.

Late season boxes (September/October):

Late season started with
eggplant, musk melon, pumpkin
and winter squash.

Hold on! We're almost done!
We forgot to take a picture on week 14.

Week 15 brought a winter squash, summer
squash and a whole mess of potatoes.
The 16th box had flowers, green and red
tomatoes, parley, eggplant
and carrots.

In the second-to-last-box we sent
carving pumpkins and brussel sprouts
.

We ended the season with kale, swiss chard, several
herbs, garlic, okra, tomatoes and honey.
